Time, frequency or PSD enforced displacement functions are not supported in Creo Simulate. Any enforced displacement constraints applied to the model will be treated as fixed.
A method called the ‘Stiff Spring’ method may be used to circumvent this limitation. The Stiff Spring method allows the application of rotational as well as linear displacements. This method also allows a different input function at various support points.
To use this method remove the model constraint and add a spring-to-ground with a stiffness equal to 1,000 times the local stiffness of the structure (may include rotary terms) at the proposed constraint location. If it is a curve or surface you will need to connect using a ‘rigid connection’. A one-thousand unit force and/or moment is applied to the spring attachment point. The force is scaled by the load function on the Analysis Definition form such that the proper displacement will be achieved based on the basic equation D=F/K.
