Most of the time you may assume that skip welds are continuous and simply ratio the stress by the edge length divided by the total length of weld. For some cases where welds are sparse or the edge distance is relatively short you may need to model more detail. One method for doing this is to model the gaps between welds and then use the End Weld option to connect the parts.
